4. Blue/Black or White/Gold Dress
Do you all remember this!? The infamous dress that had everyone debating whether the dress was actually blue/black or white/gold?! This dress literally caused a social media frenzy. It was even on national news… just ridiculous.
This year we saw some really great diversity in the fashion world. Lane Bryant put out a lingerie campaign to encourage all women of all sizes to love their bodies. Project Runway also had its first plus size winner this year! Ashley Nell Tipton had a great collection and received positive reviews. I hope to see more from her in the future.
Balmain has had a tremendous year. Their H&M collaboration was highly anticipated and they have had strong campaigns throughout the year. One campaign that caught much attention was the siblings shoot starring the Jenners, Hadids and Dunns. Also, kudos to Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing. He is doing a great job of keeping the fashion house in the forefront of fashion.
1. Year of the Yeezy
After much dispute with Nike, Kanye West went separate ways with the brand. Kanye moved on to collaborate with Adidas. He introduced Yeezy Season to the world which includes his ever popular Yeezy Boost sneakers. Some other accolades for Kanye this year includes MTV’s Video Vanguard Award, Shoe of the Year at Footwear News Annual Achievement Award and GQ’s Most Stylish Man of 2015. The Yeezy Season is going strong and doesn’t look like it will be slowing down anytime soon.
