2.) The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
This five grammy- winning album by Fugee songstress/MC Lauryn Hill was truly a masterpiece. With hints of pop, reggae, soul and funk; this album truly has something for everybody. That being said, the album doesn’t lose any of its integrity by doing this. Although the album is pleasing to the ear melodically, there is still the deep underlying message that we’ve grown to love from Hill. The album shows many of the different facets of love. On ‘Zion’ she belts from her soul about the love she has for her son. She sings about heartache on classics like ‘Ex-Factor and Lost Ones’. She then comes back with heartfelt joints like ‘Everything is Everything’ and ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’. Top to bottom this is surely a R&B classic.
