After multiple plays of the NTF project, I’m finally ready to give my review on it. I must say it really does have a different type of feel, I don’t know whether to call it Rap or Hip-Hop so I’ll just stick with what it says under the genre category “Audio Visual”. The meaning’s pretty self-explanatory but just in case you don’t you get it, it’s basically music that you can envision in your mind. You ever just zone out to an entire album by yourself so you can grasp the concept of it? This is definitely one of those projects. A story is being told and unless you’re entirely focused you probably won’t be able to catch it. I’m not going to sit here and spoil it for those who haven’t listened to it yet but if you didn’t I’d highly advise you to jump on that. But anyways let’s get to what you came here for, The Now Till Forever Review.
One thing that stuck out to me the most is everything on there is all original work. No covers, no freestyles, nothing of that sort. The hook game was all them, they even mixed and mastered the whole thing on their own. You don’t really see that too often, especially from local artist so Kudos to them. But with all good news, you know the bad is not far behind. My thing with NTF is that it doesn’t grab your attention right away. It took a few plays before it actually started to grow on me & I’m happy that it did but if were any other project, 9 out of 10 times I would’ve tossed it in the recycle bin. There was also a few times that I felt their flows seemed a little off but other than that I really can’t complain.
The best thing about NTF to me was the choruses, after some time they get real catchy but all-in-all they’re smooth and it was consistent throughout the whole project. My personal favorite song on there is Who Knew, from the mellow piano playing in the background, the Frank Ocean sample, to the on point lyrics. It was easily the best song on there in my opinion. Fly Home was up there too, I can’t put my finger on that sample but nonetheless the track is tough & I can’t forget about Nothing At All, another one of my favorite tracks on there.
I’m curious to see how their next project is going to turn out. They have a different style to them and hopefully they’ll continue to progress with it.
