As you all may have heard we got a very monumental surprise last Sunday at MetLife stadium. Yes, I’m talking about the G-Unit reunion at Summer Jam 2014. 50’s one time rap rival Nas brought out 50 Cent which then emerged to him bringing out Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck for an official G-Unit reunion as they performed for the first time since 2008. What I find so crazy is that G-Unit had many public disagreements publicly very recenty, but they somehow put those differences aside so put us, the fans, in a nostalgic stage. Together, they performed hits like “So Seductive”, “On Fire”, and “I Smell P****”. I for sure went wild watching via my MacBook.
Less than 24 hours after G-Unit shocked us with their presence at Summer Jam, they went ahead and released a track with 50 Cent’s protege Kidd Kidd, “Nah, I’m Talkin Bout”, which you can listen to in the music section on our site! This track is actually a remix to Hit-Boy and HS87’s “Grindin’ My Whole Life” featuring Kidd Kidd as well. With that said, I thought that it was very appropriate to drop a throw back thursday video in honor of the Unit.
It’s only right that I give you all a memory with the leader of the clan, 50 Cent. “Wanksta” is a track featured on his 2002 mixtape, ‘No Mercy, No Fear’. The lyrics of “Wanksta” is also believed to have been directed to his long time nemesis Ja Rule, which we all know caused some back and forth controversy even after the G-Unit vs Murder Inc fued. I find it so mind boggling that this track really dropped over 10 years ago and many of us were bumpin’ it as youngins.
I hope ya’ll enjoy this weeks Throw Back Thursday!
