Art On The Ave was created with the objective of bringing people from all parts of RI to its creative capitol, Providence, to celebrate its uniqueness. First, on behalf of S4TB, we’d like to thank all who attended our event. We were able to gather 100+ people on the South Side of Providence in the middle of the summer. That is love and we appreciate you.
We also gathered 14+ local visual artists to participate in our art show/networking social. The artists ranged from different ages, genders, and back grounds, but they had a special talent in common. We wanted to create a space for local artists to hopefully sell and display their work and hopefully connect with other artists as well as with art lovers on a more intimate level.
Our event was held at Avenue Concept, a public art program that integrates urban art and opportunities for community skill building. This small and fairly young organization was responsible for organizing the public art installations for the Providence International Arts Festival. We are a small state but we do pretty dope things.
We gave our guest spray paint cans, wall space and an old car to express themselves on as well as an open bar. Let’s see what kind of art we made together.
