In a huge Illuminati move, Disney acquires LucasFilms for a little over 4 Billion dollars. Now Disney owns the rights to the Indian Jones & Star Wars franchises. Seeing as Disney is all about profit, they plan to release Star Wars Episode VII in 2015 with Episode VIII & IX coming soon after. My question is, what is their plan with the beloved Star Wars saga? George Lucas is stepping into retirement and will only be a “Creative Consultant” on the movie. Having George hands-off could be a good or bad thing, depending on who you ask. Will there be any correlation to the previous two trilogies or will it expand the universe even more? We have three years to wonder. One thing to think about though is that the original Star Wars trilogy came out in the 80’s when huge, epic, space operas weren’t released every summer. The original Star Wars came at a time when it blew the kids away and redefined what movies could do in terms of storytelling. Can you really create a story as great as Luke Skywalker’s, or a twist as great as Darth being his father. Now our younger generation has great movies coming out every year. After watching something like The Avengers, nothing you put in a film can really blow a kids mind long enough for them to remember it. What I’m trying to say here is… I don’t think this next trilogy can spark the love and frenzy that the original did.
